Digital is cool - also in the UAE

What do Burj Khalifa in Dubai and museum Louvre in Paris have in common? ENGIE makes them both cooler than they already are!

Last week I was feeling the heat, but not just because of the Dubai and Abu Dhabi sun - I was on a mission to explore how digital is making impact on the energy solutions of ENGIE. And let me tell you, it was a cool experience.

Visiting Tabreed plant, I got to see how digital is a game changer to how we run operations and how it helps to achieve significant energy efficiency. And in the country where most of the energy is consumed on cooling during summer months, the impact is huge. Who knew digital can be so cool (pun intended)!

I attended the AMEA IT Summit, where leaders from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Singapore and Australia, came together to discuss IT and digital strategy and priorities.

I also had the chance to meet with business leaders passionate about providing sustainable energy solutions, and engage with over thirty enthusiastic women in a discussion about development and DEI.

It was inspiring to see everybody’s dedication to making a positive impact on the environment. Overall, my visit to ENGIE in Dubai and Abu Dhabi reinforced my belief in the power of people and digital to drive positive change. I am grateful for the connections I made and the knowledge I gained during this visit.

Many thanks for hosting me Sarfaraz Ahmed (CISA, CGEIT), Frédéric Claux, Geert Bunkens, Inge Van den Bossche, Khalid Abdulla Al Marzooqi, Antonio Di Cecca and many others.
